Indoor Date Ideas for Quarantine

March 18, 2020

So I was talking to my fiance at lunch this afternoon, and after our conversation, I really felt like having a date night. I quickly remembered that all of our favorite restaurants were closed along with the movie theater and the gym due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak. Social distancing is now “a thing” and left me no choice but to brainstorm some indoor date night ideas. After some research and personal preference, I compiled my list to share with you!

The majority of these can also be shared with the entire family, enjoy!

Cook Something Using What You Already Have at Home

I love going on Pinterest to see what 3 to 5 ingredient recipes I can make in my downtime. You’d be surprised how many great dishes you can create using what you have in your refrigerator and cabinets. There are also websites such as SuperCook where you can select the ingredients that you have and they’ll give you a list of recipes!

Indoor Movie Night

I feel like this is something a lot of couples and families take for granted! Put the phones on the kitchen counter, pile up blankets and pillows on the couch and pick a movie. Can’t decide? Pick your category, close your eyes, scroll & select! Want to up your movie night game? Build a fort in the living room! This will bring back major childhood memories, I promise. Competitive couples can see who can come up with the best fort (if you have kids, let them be the judges)!

Personality Tests & Quizzes

What’s a better way to spend quarantine than getting to know your significant other on a new level? This is good for new couples and couples who’ve been together for a long time! Get to know each other more deeply, discover and re-discover the “little things”, and ultimately take advantage of the time you have to find ways to improve your relationship!

Bring the Casino Home

Since the casinos are shutting down, you can bring the games to your living room! Bet money if you wish, but you can use other things such as chores, food, and candy! There are tons of different casino games you can play at home – click here!

Paint Night

I absolutely love it when my fiance gets creative with me. I personally feel as if one partner tends to lean towards the creative niche than the other so this gets interesting! I love seeing what he comes up with (this doesn’t happen often), and I love that when you’re finished,¬† you can easily hang them up on the wall as a memory. Don’t be afraid to show your creative side! Everybody has one. Grab old paints or even markers, crayons or colored pens/pencils and get to it!

Plan a Future Adventure

I really enjoy saving places inside and outside of the U.S for future trip ideas. Traveling is so important and can truly open your mind with new sights, people and experiences. If you don’t have one already, create a Pinterest account and start saving ideas! I also love jumping on AirBnB just to see the different types of homes and apartments you can stay in! Some are treehouses, or shipping container homes, etc. These get awesome and will serve as an adventure on their own!

Home Improvements

Ha! Can’t escape them now! Grab your toolbox, and get to making those home improvements you’re always putting off! Having more than two hands on deck means you’ll get more done in half the time. Painting, hanging pictures, changing locks, polishing, reorganizing, sorting through old stuff (that one can be dangerous – sometimes we get in too deep and create a bit of a mess but the memories are great!). Hang shelves, trim the hedges or reorganize some furniture. I know one of those will apply to you!

Home Workout

This is last but not least. It is so important to keep moving with the gyms closing down. I have been slowly building a home gym piece by piece over the past few months and I couldn’t have finished at a better time! Even without gym equipment, there are tons of streamable no-equipment workouts you can do at home on Instagram, Youtube, and many gym companies are also listing them. You can use furniture as weights, chairs for dips and grab your pets as a little extra weight (if they’re cooperative) for squats!

Those are the best date ideas I could think of and put together! I hope you can use these to your advantage, and for some of you to not feel “guilty” or “lazy” about being stuck at home!¬†
