A Dog Friendly Weekend
If you’re anything like me, you have trouble leaving your pup at home even if it’s just for a night. They are a part of the family, and their unconditional love is something you want to bring with you pretty much everywhere!
The Boarding House and The Beach Shack are two of the cutest dog-friendly hotels in town and I couldn’t recommend them both enough! They think of your furry friends as guests too, and the adorable amenities they have to make them feel at home are just priceless! Some other options are pet-friendly AirBnB’s, The Madison Beach Club, and the Marquis de Lafayette on Beach Avenue!
If you’re looking for places to take your dog for a day on the town, during peak season, you can take your dog just about anywhere besides the Cape May Promenade and the Washington Street Mall. Luckily, Cape May is fully walkable, and the streets are lined with gorgeous Victorian homes. There is also a local dog park on Lafayette Street, but you do have to pay to enter and can read more about that here. If you’re a social local with not much yard space, this would be a great investment!
The Cape May Beaches are pretty much off-limits for furry friends during the summer months, but the best place to take them is down by the Bay! The bay beaches begin right by the Ferry, and the water is much more calm with little to no waves – perfect for your dog to safely splash around!
Getting hungry? Check out the Saltwater Cafe for breakfast on their patio, the Rusty Nail for lunch and the Blue Pig Tavern patio for dinner and, if you’ve got any energy left, maybe make a quick stop at the Harbor View for post-dinner drinks!
There are plenty of other places that you can bring your furry friends such as Willow Creek Winery, Cape May Winery, Cape May Brewery, Nauti Spirits Distillery, Cold Spring Brewery and even the Cape May Whale Watcher!
Who says it has to be a hassle when traveling with your best friend?! This sounds like a pretty great getaway to me! Click the links to book and contact any of the establishments with questions or feel free to contact me here if you need assistance in booking or think some things in the article need some updating!
